The hotel is really the best thing about the Chiemsee. The rooms are beautiful and newly renovated, the service is excellent and the food is delicious. The decor of the hotel is first class, nothing can be improved. For everyone who wants a unique vacation, here it is perfect!

Beautiful and excellently run country hotel that leaves nothing to be desired. A service team that fulfills every wish and from which some significantly more expensive hotels could learn a slice. First class rooms and good food, the location need not be mentioned, it is just gorgeous !!!! This is our second time here and we will keep coming back. Definitely one of the best country inns we know.

The customer and the service are right at the top! It's always a wonderful vacation for us. Relaxation, friendliness, fantastic food (definitely try the blueberry pancake) and and and. Many thanks to the whole team (the good mood hits, starting with breakfast, ending with the rooms, great especially German-speaking staff) for your professional and friendly support. Especially for the very good compliance with the hygiene standards in these very difficult times. We hope that the Schalchenhof and other hotels will survive this difficult time. We'll be back in any case!

We stayed here for a week and had booked the water lily room in the mansade. Unfortunately, this is not renovated, but super clean, has everything you need, the beds are very comfortable. So we didn't have any disadvantages. The breakfast is plentiful and very tasty, there is a little bit of everything. There is also enough if you arrive shortly before 10. The service is polite and courteous. The reception is always manned, otherwise you can reach someone on the rest days via a mobile phone number, which is also great if you have questions. So a great solution for a country inn. The food in the restaurant was tasty, fresh and consistently recommended. A very great hotel with a loving management. We would love to come back.

We went to eat here today, it was delicious. The waitresses welcomed us in a friendly manner and brought us to the table. The menus are very "cool" written on blackboards, which somehow loosens it up. The selection is clear, but our meals (4 pieces) were very freshly cooked and you could taste the craftsmanship behind them. We'd love to come back for dinner. We saw in the brochure that there were also rooms, but we didn't take advantage of the offer.

Even when I think of the Schalchenhof, I feel happy. I always feel at home here and practically every wish is read from my lips. It is also great that you meet the Bichler family in person again and again, that gives a feeling of being welcome. The view is gigantic, the beach section (on the lake) a dream, great excursion possibilities, the food delicious! The rooms are nice and modern. The Schalchenhof is now my favorite hotel and I always look forward to coming back. Those who haven't been here before have definitely missed something!

Very friendly staff, great rooms, the beds in the main building are great. The only disadvantage was the rooms on the third floor, a lot of stairs and with luggage, you are already completely exhausted, I was lucky and my husband was there, but when two older women arrive alone that becomes a problem. But all in all to be recommended.

We had a really great time here. Our room was newly renovated with a great view of the mountains and the lake. The in-house beach is ideal for swimming and it is great that it can be reached on foot without a road. We got towels from the maids at any time. The breakfast was very tasty, there was fresh scrambled eggs, rolls, bacon, sausage and cheese. Also yogurt for my wife. It was also constantly refilled, so that we still had the full range shortly before 10 am. Coffee comes from a machine, so it is very fresh. We ate in our own restaurant almost every evening, which is really recommended. Once we were in Gstadt, although we cannot recommend this. The staff is very friendly and courteous all round. We felt very comfortable this week and would love to come back.

When I go to eat in a country inn, the kitchen is expected to be simple. But things are really extravagant here and with the times. There are spinach cheese dumplings but also a hearty roast pork. The cakes are decorated with so much love that you hardly want to eat them. The service is quick and polite. You are brought to your table in a very friendly manner, but without a reservation you have to wait a bit. The prices are more than fair with this great quality. Toilets were clean, the whole property makes a great impression and you can tell that the family puts a lot of passion into everything. All thumbs up!

Not deserved more than 1 star that is for the food and the view of the Chiemsee. You reserve a table when we were there for the day after next. If you come there, it is closed according to the internet but Wednesday not Tuesday

We stayed here for almost a week and can only recommend the Schalchenhof. I have to especially mention the friendly hostess and the excellent cuisine. We ate our way across the menu once, fish, meat, salads, soups - everything was delicious and perfectly crafted. All of this at more than fair prices with a view of the Chiemsee, what more could you want? Make a reservation as it always fills up quickly.

Super hotel !!! We spent our vacation at the Schalchenhof in June 2020. Our room was beautiful. Room with a view of the Chiemsee. The owners (mother, daughter and son) and the staff are super nice and friendly. Breakfast and dinner are delicious and very extensive. We'll definitely be back. Wurtinger family

I can't rate the hotel as we only ate, but the experience was very good. The food is of a high quality and there are few but very refined dishes. Of course, the dishes are rather hearty due to the region, but there are always 1-2 exotic dishes such as 'bowls' etc. The playground near the terrace was also very positive. So we could eat in peace while the children played. The staff was very friendly and professional, gladly again!

You will be satisfied here and the kitchen is only to be recommended here. The view is free, a day can not end better.

Typical Bavarian Inn. I lived in Munich 10 years ago for work and I found myself like home in Schalchenhof. You have to bear in mind that you are in the countryside of Bavaria, it is not an international capital, the standards are different. I recommend to bring cash as cards are not really common there. Basic German will help. Otherwise the rooms are VERY clean, spacious and the bed was to our liking. The breakfast was good, and the food was reasonnably priced for the quality/quantity you receive. Amazing views and very quiet!

Nice place to go for Sunday lunch. But, shocked that the old male waiter did not wash his hands after using the toilet. I skipped ordering a dessert. I couldn't get out quick enough.
